Due to the enormous size of Weld County, the Weld County Sheriff's Office is responsible for much more than most county sheriff's offices. The Weld County Sheriff's Office is one of the largest governmental institutions in the County, which means a lot of resources are dedicated to it.

The Weld County Sheriff's Office oversees all of Weld County. Cities and towns within Weld County have their own law enforcement agencies, but the Weld County Sheriff's Office may assist these municipalities at times. The Weld County Sheriff's Office also runs the jail, which has a capacity of up to 850 inmates. Community policing is strongly advocated by the Weld County Sheriff's Office, and the Sheriff's Office website states that "[d]eputies welcome the many opportunities to meet with the citizens in their assigned areas and appreciate citizen contact no matter the circumstances."

Below you will find links to the Weld County Sheriff's Office's social media pages. And further down, you'll find links to the Sheriff's Office's daily arrest and call reports, press releases and patrol districts.

Daily Arrest Report

Unfortunately, aside from seeing the occasional Most Wanted list or crime data map, most people don't understand what law enforcement entails each and every day. A great way of involving yourself in understanding more about criminal justice is by scrolling through the Weld County Sheriff's Office's Daily Arrest Report.

Press Releases

The following is a link to an archive of press releases dating back to 2005. The press releases are produced by the Weld County Sheriff's Office in order to give their view on local incidents that involve law enforcement, announce programs the Office is planning to or has already implemented and make public service announcements.

Patrol Districts

The Weld County Sheriff's Office breaks Weld County up into four separate districts in order to enhance their ability to provide services in all areas of the County. The following link will direct you to a webpage on the Weld County Sheriff's Office website that further discusses and provides illustrations of these four districts.
